Tips and Tricks: How to render semitransparents fluids with MaxwellRender in 3DSMax and Maya.

Hi all!

Sometimes we want to make the effect where there are objects appearing from a state of invisibility to visibility. MaxwellRender don’t have the phisical possibility to render invisible objects, but we can play with the Opacity channel in the maxwell materials to achieve the same effect.

It can be done for any object, not just for fluids, but depending on the 3D platform we want to use to render will need to do it in a different way.

Using Multiplier Curve for 3Dsmax.

Using Set Driven Key for Maya.

Thanks to, my colleague, Victor Sanchez for explain me the Maya things.

  1. Hi

I’m testing 2013 Realflow and I was just curious what substeps settings did you use in your tests? I’m not sure what strictness is? Also did you just use a box for your emiiter and a little bigger open container to hold the hybrido particles in place?

    Thanks for your time

    • Hi Eric,

Do you mean RealFlow 2012?. If it is RealFlow 2013, please, send your questions to the realflow forum. Sorry for the inconveniences. :)
